Kamehameha Maui Campus Head Named
February 2017 – Scott Parker, Ed.D., has been named Poʻo Kula (Head of School) for Kamehameha Schools Maui campus, effective in June. Dr. Parker is currently serving as interim Hope Poʻo Kula (Assistant Head of School) at Kamehameha’s Kapālama campus. He has worked in multiple educational environments, including as a teacher and administrator in both public and private schools on Maui and Oʻahu. In 2014, Dr. Parker was the recipient of the STRIVE HI Award for sustained academic achievement while Principal at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School on Oʻahu. He is a member of the Royal Order of Kamehameha and a recipient of numerous commendations for his service to the Hawaiʻi Air National Guard.
A native of Maui, Dr. Parker graduated from Maui High School and the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, where he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education. In 2014, Dr. Parker earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California.
Established in 1996, Kamehameha Schools Maui is one of three K-12 campuses in the Kamehameha Schools educational system. KSM enrolls nearly 1,100 students on a beautiful and well-equipped 180-acre campus in Pukalani.
