Harriet Tubman Charter School Appoints Shastity Driscoll as Founding Head

ShastityDriscollJune 2019 — Harriet Tubman School of Science and Technology in Atlanta, Georgia, has named Dr. Shastity Driscoll its first Head of School. Dr. Driscoll served most recently as the Lead Middle School Education Director at Epiphany Prep Charter School in San Diego. An Atlanta native and a Teach for America alumna, Dr. Driscoll previously worked as the Principal Director of the Navy Child and Youth Development Program and Director of the All Souls’ Episcopal Church Children’s Program in Okinawa, Japan. She holds a B.A. from Oral Roberts University, an M.S. from Arkansas State University, and an Ed.D. from the University of Southern California.

Opening in August 2019, Harriet Tubman School of Science and Technology will use a data-driven model to create student academic success and build lifelong career skills in technology and computer science for educationally disadvantaged students. Initially serving 200 students in kindergarten through third grade, the school plans to grow to 300 students in grades K through 5 by 2021.
