Eric Peterson PortraitWith more than 30 years of experience as a teacher, coach, and administrator at several outstanding independent schools, Eric Peterson brings a wealth of experience to the Wickenden team. Most recently, he served 13 years as the Head of St. George’s School in Middletown, Rhode Island. Prior to his time at St. George’s, Eric served as Associate Headmaster and Upper School Director at Forsyth Country Day School in Lewisville, North Carolina. Previous appointments include Director of Admissions at Sewickley Academy in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, Assistant Director of Admissions at Middlesex Academy in Concord, Massachusetts, and Assistant Director of Admissions at his alma mater, Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts. Before launching his career in education, Eric worked as an attorney in Boston and as the Director of Marketing for a family-owned manufacturing business in Springfield, Vermont. In addition to his work at Wickenden Associates, Eric currently serves as Senior Vice President for Advancement at the International Tennis Hall of Fame and is the Founder and Executive Director of Orion Military Scholarships, a non-profit organization that supports boarding school scholarships for children of United States Military Personnel.

Eric received a B.A. in English from Dartmouth College and a J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law. In addition to his presenting at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) conference, Eric has authored numerous articles, book reviews, and profiles. In 2015, he was a featured alumni speaker at Stanford University’s Design Thinking Bootcamp. Eric has been a member of the Boards at St. Michael’s Country Day School in Newport, Rhode Island, and Lyford Cay International School in the Bahamas. From 2006-2014, Eric served on the Board of Directors for The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).
